Our story began more than 10 years ago, when we started as a small business with a passion for designing and creating high-quality lighting solutions. Jimmy Rickard, a descendent of the De La Guerra Family with six generations in Santa Barbara, founded the Santa Barbara Lighting Company to reflect his love for the local cultural aesthetic and to honor its distinct character.

Inspired by the goal of creating beautiful, high-end interior and exterior light fixtures that complement local California mission architecture, the SBLC team creates bespoke lighting that reflects its love for exceptional craftsmanship, quality, and timeless design. We work directly with designers and their clients all over the U.S. to produce the ideal lighting solutions for their specific needs.
