Client Services & Sales Coordinator
Santa Barbara Lighting Company
Santa Barbara, California | Full-Time, In-Person

About Santa Barbara Lighting Company
Santa Barbara Lighting Company is a Southern California lighting manufacturer specializing in handmade, made-to-order lighting for exceptional residential projects across the country. We work closely with interior designers, architects, builders, and homeowners to create lighting that is thoughtfully designed, carefully made, and built to last.
As we expand our presence at our Santa Barbara Design Studio, we are looking for a motivated, highly organized individual to join our growing team.
About the Role
This is an opportunity for someone early in their career who is eager to learn, take ownership, and grow with a small, hands-on company.
The Client Services & Sales Coordinator will work full-time from our Santa Barbara Design Studio and support the day-to-day communication, organization, and administration behind our client projects and sales process.
Because our work is rooted in design and architecture, we are especially interested in someone who already has a strong interest in—or familiarity with—the world of interiors, home furnishings, architecture, or luxury design. Understanding how designers and architects work, and having a natural interest in the details of a home, will be valuable in this role.
No two days will look exactly the same. We are a small team, so we are looking for someone resourceful, proactive, detail-oriented, and willing to jump in wherever needed.
What You’ll Do
-
Communicate directly with interior designers, architects, builders, homeowners, and other clients by phone and email
-
Prepare and manage client quotes, invoices, and order information
-
Answer incoming calls and assist with general client and product inquiries
-
Schedule appointments and coordinate visits to our Santa Barbara Design Studio
-
Maintain accurate client, project, and account information within our CRM and internal systems
-
Enter, organize, and maintain data within spreadsheets and project records
-
Develop and maintain follow-up schedules for prospective and existing clients
-
Assist with sales follow-up and ongoing client communication
-
Help manage customer accounts from initial inquiry through ordering and production
-
Become knowledgeable about our lighting collections, customization options, finishes, mounting styles, and processes
-
Support the team with additional administrative, sales, and studio needs as they arise
Who We’re Looking For
You may be a great fit if you are:
-
A college graduate, ideally with a background in interior design, architecture, design, business, communications, or a related field
-
Genuinely interested in interior design, architecture, home furnishings, or the luxury residential industry
-
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
-
Professional and confident communicating by both phone and email
-
Comfortable learning new software, systems, and processes
-
Resourceful and willing to figure things out rather than waiting to be told every next step
-
Able to manage multiple projects, conversations, and priorities at once
-
Personable, polished, and comfortable working directly with clients
-
Motivated by growth and interested in taking on greater responsibility over time
-
Excited to work within a small company where your contribution has a meaningful impact
Experience within an interior design firm, architecture firm, showroom, home furnishings company, design trade showroom, or other residential design-related business is a strong plus.
What This Role Can Become
We are looking for someone who wants to build a career with us.
This position will begin with a strong foundation in client services, sales support, and day-to-day studio operations, but there is significant opportunity for the role to evolve as the individual develops a deeper understanding of our products, clients, and business.
For the right person, we see this position growing into greater responsibility within client relationships, sales, project management, and business development over time.
Compensation & Schedule
Salary: $65,000–$75,000 annually, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Location: Santa Barbara, California
Position: Full-time, in-person
This is an in-person position and requires working from our Santa Barbara Design Studio five days per week.
